Despite the challenging situation worldwide, Kazakhstan has achieved positive results. The economy is growing, yet many unresolved issues remain. This was stated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during an expanded government meeting, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.
According to the head of state, tariff conflicts and sanctions confrontations have become a new reality of the global economy, and "these trends carry severe consequences." Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that the climate agenda will undergo significant changes, leading to a revision of approaches to the development of "green energy."
"On one hand, this will support the demand for traditional energy resources. On the other hand, it will lead to the destabilization of prices for oil, gas, and coal. A shift towards the widespread use of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets has emerged in the financial sector. The development of artificial intelligence has become a fundamental factor, intensifying competition among leading technological powers. In such conditions, we need to have a clear strategy of actions aimed at overcoming the serious challenges of the new era," he stated.
The president emphasized that the government will need to make difficult decisions and, most importantly, implement them to prevent economic stagnation and ensure sustainable development.
"This task is within the capabilities of civil servants who possess high qualifications and are ready to take on responsibility. Global experience shows that the effectiveness of government bodies is largely manifested in such challenging situations. No matter how difficult it may be, the government must ensure total savings of funds and their allocation only to address the most pressing issues. It is time to tighten our belts and live within our means," he said.
