Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova announced at a briefing following the government meeting that starting January 1, 2025, the amounts for all types of state benefits and the basic pension payment in Kazakhstan will be increased by 6.5%, while the solidarity pension will rise by 8.5%, exceeding the inflation rate by 2%, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.
“In total, an additional 700 billion tenge will be allocated this year for social payments, including pensions and benefits, to support the population,” she stated.
The minister also reminded about two types of additional social support: targeted social assistance and housing assistance.
“We will be reviewing the approaches to providing housing assistance. Furthermore, measures for active employment will continue. Social jobs, public works, youth internships—all of these will be maintained, and the amounts of payments for them will be increased... Therefore, all types of social support that we have planned will remain in place,” emphasized Tamara Duisenova.
It is worth noting that from January 1, 2025, the minimum basic pension will be raised from 65% to 70% of the living wage, amounting to 32,360 tenge, while the maximum amount will increase from 105% to 110% of the living wage, which is 50,851 tenge. The birth grant for the first, second, and third child will rise from 140,296 to 149,416 tenge, and for the birth of the fourth child and beyond, it will increase from 232,596 to 247,716 tenge. The benefit for large families, which depends on the number of children, will increase for families with four children from 59,183 to 63,030 tenge, and for families with ten children—from 147,680 to 157,280 tenge. The benefit for individuals with disabilities of the first group will rise from 95,496 to 101,702 tenge, for the second group from 76,397 to 81,362 tenge, and for the third group from 52,089 to 55,474 tenge. Additionally, payments for loss of breadwinner and loss of capacity for work from the State Social Insurance Fund will also be increased by 6.5%.
