JSC "NC "KazMunayGas" and SOCAR have signed a strategic agreement on decarbonization issues, reports the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Kazakh oil and gas company.
"During the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) in Baku, JSC "NC "KazMunayGas" and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) signed a strategic agreement on decarbonization," the statement noted.
The document aims to foster collaboration between the two leading oil and gas companies in implementing decarbonization projects and adopting low-carbon technologies.
"COP-29 has become a key international platform for discussing climate issues. The signed agreement reflects the growing significance and priority of cooperation among countries in the region on sustainable development and reducing carbon footprints," emphasized KMG.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is Azerbaijan's national oil and gas company, engaged in the exploration, extraction, processing, and transportation of oil and natural gas.
