In Abu Dhabi, the national maritime shipping company "Kazmortransflot" has signed an agreement with AD Ports Group for the construction of two container ships, reports a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of "KazMunayGas."
"The document aims to strengthen partnerships and expand business in the Caspian region. The parties have agreed to build two modern container vessels with a capacity of over 500 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), specifically designed for operations in the Caspian Sea. The new vessels with a shallow draft will enhance the turnover and capacity of the Trans-Caspian route," KMG explained.
The companies also confirmed plans to develop an intermodal ferry line across the Caspian Sea. The project includes the construction of high-capacity ferries and the creation of modern terminal infrastructure, which will significantly reduce transit times for Kazakhstani exporters and participants in the Middle Corridor.
It is noteworthy that the national maritime shipping company "Kazmortransflot" is part of the "KazMunayGas" group of companies.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) is an international transport corridor connecting China and Europe through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
