JSC "NAC "Kazatomprom" has received the right to explore uranium at the Inkai-Mynkuduk site, as reported by the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the atomic company.
It is specified that this pertains to obtaining the right to subsoil use for uranium exploration at the Inkai-Mynkuduk site, which is located in the Shu-Sarysu uranium province in the Suzak district of the Turkestan region. The license is granted for a period of 6 years with the possibility of a 5-year extension. This site, for which the right of subsoil use exclusively belongs to "Kazatomprom," represents the northern flank of the Inkai deposit.
"Exploration of the Inkai-Mynkuduk site is a crucial part of our approved strategy for expanding and effectively utilizing our mineral resource base, as well as a further indicator of the company's sustainable growth. The site has significant potential, making it promising for long-term operation. We take pride in the tangible results of our work in the search and exploration of uranium deposits, which strengthens our leadership in the global uranium market," noted Meirzhan Yusupov, the chairman of the board of "Kazatomprom."
The estimated resources of the Inkai-Mynkuduk site in categories P1 and P2 exceed 20,000 tons of uranium. Geological exploration work is planned in the near future to clarify the resources and upgrade them to higher categories C1 and C2, which will allow for the effective utilization of the site's potential and the successful implementation of the company’s long-term strategic plans.
Recall that it was previously reported that in 2024, "Kazatomprom" produced 23,270 tons of uranium. This is 10% more compared to 2023, which was 21,112 tons.
The production volumes of "Kazatomprom" for 2025 are expected to be at the level of 25,000 – 26,500 tons of uranium on a 100% basis and proportionally according to the share of participation, with 13,000 – 14,000 tons of uranium, respectively.
