In November 2024, the annual inflation rate in Kazakhstan slowed down to 8.4%, compared to 8.5% in October. Annual inflation accelerated in 10 regions, decreased in nine, and remained unchanged in one, reports a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing data from the National Bank.
The highest annual inflation rate was recorded in Astana.
In November, food prices increased to 5.4% year-on-year (up from 4.9% in October). The highest price growth for this category was observed in the Zhetysu region (7.9%), while the lowest was in the Turkestan region (3.2%).
The growth rate of non-food prices accelerated to 8.0% year-on-year (from 7.8% in October). The highest rate was recorded in the Turkestan region (13.3%), and the lowest in the Pavlodar region (5.1%).
In November, the increase in prices for paid services slowed down to 13.3% year-on-year (from 14.3% in October). Prices in Astana rose significantly above the national average (16.2%), while they increased significantly below that level in the Turkestan region (9.4%).
In November, the month-over-month inflation growth across the country was 0.9%, which is above the historical average (0.8% from October 2017-2021).
