Observer countries of the EAEU may be granted access to the integrated information system. This was announced at the Digital Almaty forum by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.

“Through the integrated information system, we facilitate interaction not only within the union but also externally in the ‘Five Plus’ format. With which countries do we have agreements on a free trade zone based on the principle of ‘One access – for five systems’? The first such project has been implemented with Vietnam. As a result, the customs authorities of our partner member states can directly obtain the necessary information in electronic form to provide preferences from each other. With the consent of the member states, similar access can also be granted to observer countries. We are open to all interested international partners,” he stated.

According to Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the commission does not intend to stop at what has been achieved and aims for comprehensive digitalization. Several projects are being implemented in pilot mode.

“For example, the development of our technological solutions, as well as the active use of electronic digital signatures by businesses, has enabled the implementation of a project for B2B digital signature verification. A universal service for cross-border information interaction has been effectively tested, which can be scaled to areas such as transport, public procurement, and electronic exchange trading,” noted Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

There is also another pilot project - “Digital Profile of Citizens of EAEU Countries.”

“Currently, mutual recognition of such systems is the most acceptable way to improve the situation regarding the movement of labor within the union. Diplomas, medical examination certificates, work books, and other documents in national information systems can be recognized in the information system of the country within the union where they work, with the consent of citizens and without unnecessary bureaucracy,” clarified the head of the EEC board.

He added that the possibility of expanding the functionality of the integrated system is also being explored.

“As we can see, the Digital Union is becoming a center for the interaction of national platforms within the framework of cross-border information exchange in a secure and trusted environment... Last year, a monitoring center was established within the commission to oversee the proper functioning of all components of the information infrastructure,” specified Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The next step will be the creation of a situational center and an information security monitoring center.

It is worth noting that by the end of 2025, the EAEU intends to adopt all 77 common processes in the field of ICT. Additionally, at the Digital Almaty-2025 forum, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov proposed to unite the efforts of EAEU countries in implementing joint projects in the field of artificial intelligence based on the Alem-EI center.
