Agricultural producers can additionally store 177 thousand tons of grain at the elevators of the Food Corporation, reports the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
"To ensure the reception and preservation of grain from agricultural producers, the subsidiary of the Food Corporation, LLP 'Astyk Koymalary,' provides its own elevator capacities. The total capacity of the four licensed grain storage facilities located in the Akmolinsk and North Kazakhstan regions is 491.7 thousand tons. Currently, these elevators are storing 314 thousand tons, including 139.8 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops from the Food Corporation. Given that the loading of the reception points of LLP 'Astyk Koymalary' does not exceed 64%, agricultural producers can additionally place another 177 thousand tons of grain at the company's elevators. At present, the enterprise operates around the clock, providing services for the reception, drying, cleaning, and storage of grain at the grain reception points," the Ministry of Agriculture press release notes.
There are a total of 191 private licensed grain reception points in the country, authorized to issue grain receipts to agricultural producers. The combined capacity of these grain storage facilities reaches 13.2 million tons.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the total capacity of all grain storage facilities in the republic is 30 million tons. Meanwhile, licensed grain reception points are loaded to 42% and are capable of additionally accommodating 7.6 million tons of grain.
As for the major grain-producing regions, the available capacities are as follows: in the Akmolinsk region - 2.5 million tons of free elevator space, in North Kazakhstan - 1.6 million tons, and in Kostanay - 1.6 million tons.
The current storage capacities are sufficient for effective management of the harvest collection and preservation.
"The operation of elevators is under constant monitoring, and the Ministry of Agriculture is ready to respond promptly to any arising situations. Additionally, agricultural producers can track all relevant information regarding elevators and the grain storage map in real-time through the Qoldau system," the information states.
